Truck and Trailer accident
Just north of Indianapolis occupants of a car and truck were injured in a trailer towing accident. A trailer came unhitched from a truck on Monday causing injury to four people. The trailer was carrying a backhoe that broke loose from the truck and traveled into the opposite lanes hitting a car. Injuries appeared to be minor to occupants of both vehicles. The occupants of the car were taken to an Indianapolis area hospital with what was believed to be non life threatening injuries.
When hauling a trailer, federal law requires a safety device which can be cables or safety chains. They must be securely fastened to both the vehicle and trailer when towing.
