Hastings Law Firm assisting burn Survivors

Last week was a busy week for The Hastings Law Firm. This past Tuesday, four attorneys from the firm spent the day with burn survivors at the Brave Hearts Camp. Each year, the Peoples Burn Foundation hosts a weeklong camp for young burn survivors. This year’s Brave Hearts camp was held at Bradford Woods in Southern Indiana. Along with firefighters from around the country ,including firefighters from the  Indianapolis  Fire Department and surrounding area, Tom Hastings, Nick Baker, Jeff Oliphant and Sam Krahulik spent time with Brave Hearts campers fishing, swimming, canoeing and just hanging out. The Hastings Law Firm sponsored the day which included firefighters from Lawrence Township Fire Department bringing fishing poles and helping campers catch the big one. Many fish were caught and released including, large mouth bass, bluegill, catfish and stripers. After a day of fishing, all the campers and guests were treated to a cookout which was provided by The Hastings Law Firm.

The next morning, Tom Hastings and Nick Baker, along with two other friends, drove to Ear Falls, Canada to board a float plane and go fishing at Latreille Lodge owned by Indianapolis fire fighter Mike Horton, wife, Ginny and Jeff Thomas. The Lodge was located on a remote lake in Northwest Ontario called Latreille Lake. It was connected to two other lakes, Margaret and Allison Lake. The trip was relaxing and very productive with the amount of fish caught. Although the limit was two fish per person, per day, many fish were caught and released on the three and a half day trip.
