The Hastings Mid Season Doubler
On July 23, 2010, Tom Hastings, of The Hastings Law Firm in Indianapolis Indiana, sponsored the annual Mid Season Doubler at Gas City I-69 Speedway. Tom’s wife, Stephanie, used to race midgets and it was just natural for the two to give back and support open wheel racing in Indiana. This year was the 5th Annual Hastings Mid Season Doubler and was very well attended. Stephanie has been a track announcer for the past fourteen years at Gas City Speedway. The feature race winner in Sprint was # 39g Dave Darland and in the Modified class was # 89 Bobby Bittle. The other featured races in Street Stock and Thunder Cars were rained out and ran a week later. Those winners were Lee Hobbs in Street Stock and DJ Holt in Thunder Cars. Tom and his wife enjoy all types of racing and along with attending the Indy 500 and the Brickyard 400, have gone to both NASCAR and INDY Car races around the country. Tom and Stephanie have traveled to Phoenix for the Copper World Classic.
